Jackie Daniels is among the most experienced skaters and coaches in roller derby. After 12 years as a key player within the world’s fastest growing sport, Jackie has become known through roller derby not only as a versatile player, a valued teammate, and a much sought-after coach and mentor.
From her beginnings with the Grand Raggidy Roller Girls in Grand Rapids, Michigan, to the more established Windy City Rollers in Chicago and now with the godmothers of modern roller derby in Austin, Texas Rollergirls. Jackie knows roller derby.
As a skater, she has played flat-track roller derby at the highest level with Windy City All-Stars, and competed at the WFTDA Championship tournament each year, while also playing non-league competitive derby with the Vagine Regime and Team USA.
Jackie has also plied her skills and prowess in the banked-track game, skating both with Team Awesome (taking 2nd in 2008) and with Team Legit (taking first in 2010). She also played herself in the 2009 Drew Barrymore film Whip It!, stoking a new generation of skaters toward the roller derby community.
Jackie has multiple awards and credits to her name including WCR All Stars MVP of the Year, WCR League MVP two times, Pivot of the Year and consistently has been a nominee for the DNN Readers Poll Double Threat award.
Sponsored by Riedell Skates, S-One Helmets, Pro-Designed Pads and Frogmouth Clothing, Jackie Daniels is also known affectionately among fans as “America’s Girlfriend”, and has been written about widely in the sports press from daily papers to ESPN.
